We are now a Certified B Corporation!

We have been working on becoming a B Corp for 2 years and we are so proud to be the first Challenge Events Company in the UK, and the highest scoring Events Company in the UK, with a score of 100.3.

By becoming a B Corp, we have made a legally binding commitment to manage the business using a triple bottom line: Profit, People and the Planet.

Why Did we Certify as a B Corp?

We always knew that we were a business with purpose. We have always been motivated by more than just making profit. But until we discovered the B Corp community, we didn’t really have a way of measuring this, or of proving this.

For us, there are two main reasons that B Corp Certification became a goal.

  1. As a small, female-owned business, we are all driven by a desire to make a difference and to make a positive change to the world. By joining a global movement of like-minded businesses, we are able to have a bigger impact on change.

  2. Our clients are charities and it is very important to us that they feel confident we are using their money responsibly. Certifying as a B Corp is an incredibly in-depth process, covering every area of a business, including governance, products, sustainability policies, support for communities, workers and customers. Therefore our charity clients can be reassured that we have been independently verified and we are acting in a way that is socially and environmentally responsible.

What Makes us a B Corp?

There are so many elements that contribute to our score of 100.3, but some of the things we do that we are really proud of include:

  • We operate our events as sustainably as we can, including reducing and recycling waste. In 2021, for example, we eliminated all of our single use cable ties, saving approximately 40,000 cable ties from going to landfill per year.

  • We work with integrity. We have an open-book policy with our clients and share where their money is being spent. We have a formal commitment to offer at least 5% of our time on a pro-bono basis to our charity clients.

  • We look after our people. We support our HQ staff with regular training, reviews and feedback. We support our extensive team of freelancers by offering competitive rates of pay, reasonable hours, training, accommodation and a supportive team structure. We treat our volunteers with respect and make sure they are feeling rewarded and well looked after at all our events.

  • We work exclusively with the charity sector – all of our events have a direct impact on raising funds for charity. This is at the forefront of our minds with every decision that we make.

  • Our team give back: all team members have free annual leave to allow them to give their time to a charity or cause that is important to them.

  • We have signed legally binding Articles of Association, registered with Companies House, committing us to to prioritise our responsibility to the environment and society when making business decisions.

 This is just the Beginning

We have so many goals that we want to achieve over the coming years. Becoming part of the B Corp movement will help us to move towards those goals and keep us on track.

  •  We plan to be Carbon Neutral by 2025

  • We plan to dedicate a minimum % of our profits to charities that share our values

  • We aim to have our event fleet and power fully electric as soon as possible

  • We would like to support underserved communities by offering career help or mentoring to those with less opportunities
