The Brief: Build Connection and Participant numbers on an Important Walk
The National Autistic Society came to Gladiator Events in 2024 with a desire to significantly grow their participant numbers on an already successful short distance walking event in Central London and partner with a company to enhance the participant experience and connection to the charity's mission supporting autistic people.
The Event: All the Colours on the Spectrum
The event has always been designed with autistic people in mind to create an enjoyable and safe event for all, including activations in the Event Hub such as quiet zones. Using the trialled and approved circular route around Battersea Park, Gladiator Events put forward a number of ideas to bring colours to the forefront of the participant experience. These include orange for enthusiasm at the start of the walk, dark blue for power of information, light blue for peace with trees and a calm sensory environment and purple for ambition to finish the walk and make a change.
The Result: A Sold-Out Event and a Beautiful Day in the Park!
On the day, there was a calm, welcoming and joyous atmosphere. The sun was shining and there were so many smiling faces celebrating and raising awareness for autism. The event sold out a few weeks before the event and had a fantastic turn out on the day. By event day, the event had already raised £60,000 for the National Autistic Society, with expectations for this number to increase in the coming weeks.
“Co-operative, friendly and collaborative approach was another real highlight. Flexibility with meetings moving. Just to say that we are really happy with this new relationship and our initial instinct to work with you was right - a lovely experience.”
