It was another action-packed weekend for the Gladiator Events team, with two inspiring charity challenges: Walk for Parkinson’s in Norwich and Trek26 Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) for Alzheimer’s Society.
🚶♀️ Walk for Parkinson’s – Whitlingham Country Park, Norwich
On Saturday, 130 dedicated walkers gathered in the serene surroundings of Whitlingham Country Park for Walk for Parkinson’s. An uplifting event in a stunning location, participants came together to raise funds and awareness for Parkinson’s UK. The energy on the day was amazing – a perfect mix of camaraderie and compassion. Our volunteers were out in force around the course offering encouragement, guidance, and cheerful support.
⛰️ Trek26 Bannau Brycheiniog – Alzheimer’s Society
Further west, the Brecon Beacons hosted the latest Trek26 challenge in difficult and unpredictable conditions. With heavy rain and thunderstorm warnings issued in the run-up to the event, our team moved swiftly to implement robust contingency plans.
From updated evacuation procedures and adapted event hubs to revised car parking and safety briefings, every eventuality was planned for to ensure participants could still enjoy the challenge safely. Despite the predicted weather, hundreds of trekkers took to the route and enjoyed much better than predicted weather!
Hannah Mayfield, Bespoke Events Fundraising Manager at Alzheimer’s Society, praised the Gladiator Events team for our thorough contingency planning and partnership approach, and we were proud of the collaboration shown between our teams, working as one rather than two.
💪 United Teams
Behind every successful event is a dedicated and supportive team — and last weekend we saw the very best of our Gladiator Events crew, working side by side with medics, mountain safety experts, and our incredible charity partners.
Across the two events, over £315,000 was raised — a phenomenal achievement that will go on to support vital services, research, and support networks for those affected by Parkinson’s and dementia.
Next stop? A well deserved weekend off for the whole GE team with no events!
